Contemporary Istanbul Sanat Fuarı’nda aynı standı paylaştıktan sonra DAİRE, Galerie Maurits van de Laar’ı bir Kanadalı ve üç Hollandalı sanatçıdan oluşan grup sergisi ile Tophane’deki yeni mekanında ağırlıyor. Hollanda Kültür Ataşesi Daniël Stork, serginin açılışını gerçekleştirecek.

Seekee Chung (1979) ve Ed Pien (1959)in işlerinde çoğunlukla silüetler hüküm sürüyor: Chung, keserek oluşturduğu fotoğraf parçalarını kullanarak üç boyutlu kutularda Asya’dan ve Hollanda’dan kır manzaraları gösteriyor. Pien, ağaçların içinden gözüken insan imgeleri arasında dolaştırdığı makasıyla boşluklar yaratıyor. Justin Wijers (1981) ise başlarının etrafında oluşturduğu minyatür desenlerde uykularını betimlediği uyuyor gibi gözüken insanların çok detaylı portrelerini narin dokunuşlarla çiziyor. Zeger Reyers (1966) üç adet video gösteriyor olacak: Drum Kit’te yüz adet varil birbirine zincirlenmiş olarak denizde yüzüyor; Cosmopolitans’da yüzlerce beyaz porselen tabak arasında bir görünüp bir kaybolan beyaz bir fare geziniyor; Rotating Kitchen’da ise tam teşkilatlı gerçek boyutlarda bir mutfak kendi ekseni etrafında yavaşça dönüyor.

 

After sharing the same booth in Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair, Daire hosts Galerie Maurits van de Laar from The Netherlands with a group show of one Canadian and three Dutch artists in its new space. Daniël Stork, cultural attaché of The Netherlands will open the exhibition.

Silhouets prevail in the work of Seekee Chung (1979) and Ed Pien (1959): Chung using cut out photofragments which she puts in the three dimensional space of a box, showing Asian and Dutch landscapes. Pien by making intricate paper cuts of trees with people in them. Justin Wijers (1981) draws very delicate and detailed portraits of people that seem to be asleep, their dreams rendered in the detailed miniature images that surround their heads. Zeger Reyers (1966) shows three videos: Drum Kit in which a hundred oildrums chained together are put in the sea, Cosmopolitans where white mice crawl through a heap of piled up porcelain plates and Rotating Kitchen in which a fully equipped life size kitchen rotates around its own axis.
